How prices are calculated

USD, billed monthly, before taxes. If a selected network is not supported, that product has no price for the full mix. YouTube comparisons cover Shorts; other post types depend on each product. LinkedIn profiles and pages each count as social accounts.

Buffer applies progressive monthly volume discounts. Essentials covers one user; Team includes shared access and formal approvals.

Monthly USD SocialPilot plans: Essentials is $30 for seven social accounts and one user; Standard is $50 for 15 and three users; Premium is $100 for 25 and six users; Ultimate is $200 for 50 and unlimited users. Each additional social account costs $4/month.

The estimate picks the cheapest eligible plan plus social account add-ons. The published Essentials card lists one user and no user add-on, so the two-person setup starts on Standard. Standard and Premium list extra users at $5/month. Annual discounts, other regional prices, Enterprise and optional services are excluded.

Capacity does not imply feature parity. Analytics and manager approvals start on Standard. Client approvals, bulk CSV scheduling and white-label reports start on Premium. The calculator does not upgrade for these features or posting volume. Only listed direct network integrations are modeled; manual and third-party workflows are excluded.

Socials includes one ViralSocial workspace; Workspaces includes unlimited workspaces. Other features and publishing limits differ. Shared team access alone does not make the products equivalent.

Buffer vs SocialPilot: common questions

What is the main difference between Buffer and SocialPilot?

Buffer focuses on a publishing queue with paid pricing per connected social account. SocialPilot sells plans with included social accounts and users, plus capacity add-ons. Its higher tiers add client approvals, bulk CSV scheduling and white-label reporting. Both support AI and MCP, so compare the workflow and total cost rather than choosing on AI availability alone.

Is Buffer cheaper than SocialPilot?

For one person and four supported social accounts, Buffer Essentials is $24/month and SocialPilot Essentials is $30. At 12 social accounts, Buffer is $68 and SocialPilot Standard is $50. For two people at 12 social accounts, Buffer Team is $128 and SocialPilot Standard remains $50. ViralSocial Socials is $19 in each example. These are capacity comparisons with monthly billing, not identical feature bundles.

How much does SocialPilot charge for extra social accounts?

An additional social account costs $4/month with USD monthly billing. For example, Standard includes 15 social accounts for $50. Ten additional social accounts bring it to $90, below Premium at $100. That Standard setup still does not include Premium client approvals or white-label reports. The calculator chooses by capacity and access, not those features.

Which tool fits client approval workflows?

Buffer Team includes formal approvals and unlimited team members. SocialPilot Standard includes manager approvals; Premium adds client approval workflows and white-label reports. ViralSocial includes unlimited teammates and workspace roles, but shared access is not the same as formal client sign-off. Check the approval steps your clients require before switching.

Do Buffer and SocialPilot support the same social networks?

Both list Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky and Google Business Profile. Buffer also lists Mastodon. SocialPilot does not list Mastodon, Telegram or Discord as direct publishing integrations. The calculator hides a competitor total when the selected mix lacks direct coverage. Formats vary by network; YouTube comparisons here cover Shorts.

Can I try Buffer, SocialPilot and ViralSocial first?

Buffer has a Free plan for one person, three social accounts and ten queued posts per social account. SocialPilot advertises a 14-day free trial. ViralSocial starts at $1 for the first month, then $19/month for one workspace or $99/month for unlimited workspaces. The calculator uses recurring monthly subscription prices, excluding introductory and annual-billing discounts.
