Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know about scheduling social content with ViralSocial: from pricing and networks to AI captions, MCP, security, and team workflows.

General

General

What ViralSocial is and how it compares to other social schedulers.

What is ViralSocial and how is it different from Buffer or Hootsuite?

ViralSocial is a social media scheduler for creators, startups, and agencies. You get one calendar across all major networks, AI-assisted captions, an MCP server for AI agents, and team workflows, all in a clean dashboard. Unlike legacy tools that bolted features on year after year, ViralSocial was designed from scratch, with every feature included on both plans.

Who is ViralSocial for?

Creators, startups, and agencies who post across multiple networks. A solo creator or business owner runs everything in one workspace on Socials, while an agency or multi-brand team keeps each brand, client, or project in its own workspace on Workspaces. Both plans have the same features.

How is ViralSocial priced?

ViralSocial Socials is $19 per month or $190 per year, with unlimited social accounts, unlimited team members with no per-seat fee, and every feature (calendar, AI, analytics, approvals, API, MCP).

Is ViralSocial reliable for production posting?

Yes. ViralSocial handles paying customer traffic today, with retries, queue isolation per workspace, and notifications when a publish fails. The same infrastructure serves a single brand and high-volume agencies alike. There is no second-class reliability tier.
Pricing & Billing

Pricing & Billing

How the two plans, billing cycles, and AI credits work on ViralSocial.

Is there a free option?

There's no free plan. ViralSocial has two paid plans with the same features: Socials at $19 per month or $190 per year, and Workspaces at $99 per month or $990 per year. If you want to try something first, the free tools at viralsocial.app/tools work without an account.

How does pricing work?

You choose a plan by how many workspaces you need. Socials ($19 per month or $190 per year) gives you one workspace. Workspaces ($99 per month or $990 per year) gives you unlimited workspaces, one per brand, client, or project. Both include every feature (calendar, AI, analytics, approvals, API, MCP), unlimited social accounts, and unlimited team members.

Do you charge per social account or per post?

Neither. Both plans include unlimited social accounts, unlimited posts, and unlimited team members at no extra cost. The only difference between Socials and Workspaces is the number of workspaces. Only AI generations draw from your credit pool.

What happens if I run out of AI credits?

Manual scheduling keeps working as normal. Only AI features pause. Each workspace comes with 2,500 AI credits pooled across your account, so adding workspaces grows the shared pool. We notify you as the pool runs low and let you top up or add a workspace anytime. Credits reset monthly.

Can I switch plans anytime?

Yes. Move between Socials and Workspaces whenever you need one workspace or many, and switch between monthly and yearly billing whenever you want. There are no annual contracts and no penalties.
Networks & Connections

Networks & Connections

Which networks ViralSocial supports and how account connection works.

Which social networks does ViralSocial support?

Instagram (feed, reels, stories, carousels), Facebook (pages and groups), LinkedIn (personal profiles and company pages), X (Twitter), TikTok (video and photo carousels), YouTube (Shorts and full uploads), Pinterest, Threads, Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram, Discord, and Google Business Profile.

How does ViralSocial connect to my accounts?

Always via OAuth, never with your password. You authorize ViralSocial from each network's official settings, and you can revoke access from there in one click. We only request the scopes needed to schedule and read your own posts.

Can I connect multiple accounts on the same network?

Yes. Both plans include unlimited social accounts, so you can connect several Instagram, X, or LinkedIn accounts in the same workspace. To keep brands or clients fully separated, the Workspaces plan gives each one its own workspace.

What if a post fails to publish?

ViralSocial retries automatically with backoff. If retries are exhausted (e.g. an expired token), we notify you in-app and via email so you can fix the issue and re-queue. Failed posts never silently disappear.

Do you support a network you haven't listed yet?

If a network has a public API, we likely have it on our roadmap. Email us to put it on our radar. Usage demand drives priority, so the networks our customers ask for most get built first.
Scheduling & Calendar

Scheduling & Calendar

How the calendar, drafts, and timezone-aware scheduling work.

How does the calendar view work?

The calendar shows scheduled, drafted, and published posts across all your connected networks in one week or month view. You can drag posts between days to reschedule, filter by network or workspace, and see real-time presence: who else is editing the calendar right now.

Can I schedule posts in different timezones?

Yes. Each workspace has a default timezone, but you can override it per post for global audiences. The calendar shows times in your local zone and indicates when a post is scheduled relative to the audience's primary region.

Can I edit a scheduled post before it publishes?

Yes. Open the post from the calendar, edit the caption, swap media, change the time, or move it to a different network. Changes save immediately and the queue picks them up before publish time.

Do you support recurring or evergreen posts?

Yes. You can mark a post as recurring (daily, weekly, monthly) or build an evergreen queue that auto-reposts top-performing content on a cadence you define. Both flows are surfaced in the calendar so nothing duplicates accidentally.

Can I schedule carousels and stories?

Yes. Carousel posts (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok) are uploaded as a multi-slide unit and scheduled like any other post. Stories are supported on Instagram and Facebook with the same drag-to-reschedule flow.
Workspaces & Teams

Workspaces & Teams

How ViralSocial handles multiple brands, clients, approval flows, and team roles.

What's the difference between a workspace and a team?

A workspace is a top-level container. It holds its own social accounts, calendar, brand kit, and members. Teams live inside a workspace and group members by function (writers, reviewers, viewers) with their own permissions. A solo creator uses a single workspace, a company uses one per brand, and an agency uses one per client.

Does ViralSocial support post approval workflows?

Yes. Drafts can require one or more reviewers before they enter the schedule. Reviewers comment inline, request edits, or approve. There's also a public review link you can share with clients who don't have a ViralSocial seat.

What roles can team members have?

Owner, admin, editor, contributor, and viewer. Owners and admins manage billing and team membership; editors and contributors can draft, schedule, and publish; viewers see the calendar without making changes. Roles are scoped per workspace.

Can I see who's editing a post right now?

Yes. The calendar and post composer show real-time presence (avatars of everyone currently viewing or editing) so two people don't accidentally overwrite each other's work.
AI & MCP

AI & MCP

How AI features work, how credits count, and how AI agents can post via MCP.

What can ViralSocial's AI do?

Generate captions adapted to each network's voice and length, suggest hashtags, draft full carousels from a single prompt, and create or edit images via your brand kit. The output is editable, never locked. You stay the author.

How do AI credits work?

Each workspace comes with 2,500 AI credits, pooled across your account, so more workspaces means a bigger shared pool. One credit covers one caption generation, image generation, or carousel slide. Manual scheduling is free and never counts against credits.

What is the ViralSocial MCP server?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI clients call tools on your behalf. ViralSocial exposes scheduling, drafting, calendar reads, and analytics as MCP tools, so an AI agent connected to your ViralSocial workspace can do real social media work without any custom integration.

Which AI clients work with ViralSocial MCP?

Any MCP-compatible client. That includes Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, ChatGPT, Gemini, and any tool built on the MCP standard. One config file in the client and your agent has scheduling superpowers, bounded by per-tool permissions and a full audit log.
Security & Compliance

Security & Compliance

Data protection, GDPR, and account controls.

How does ViralSocial protect my account credentials?

We never see or store your social network passwords. All connections are OAuth-based, with tokens encrypted at rest using AES-256. You can revoke ViralSocial's access from any network's settings at any time, and we honor the revocation immediately.

Is ViralSocial GDPR-compliant?

Yes. ViralSocial is built around GDPR requirements: lawful processing, data minimization, right to erasure, and audit trails at the contact level. EU customers can request a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) at any time.

Where is my data stored?

Your data runs in regional data centers with options for EU residency. Nothing is shared with third parties, and nothing leaves ViralSocial unless you connect external services.

Can I delete my account and all my data?

Yes. Delete your account from the dashboard at any time. Workspaces, scheduled posts, drafts, and analytics history are permanently removed and propagated through backups within 30 days.
Support

Support

From email tickets to onboarding calls and migration help.

What support channels do you offer?

Chat, email, and GitHub support on every workspace, with no priority tiers to buy. Agencies running multiple workspaces can request scheduled onboarding calls and a point of contact for ongoing help.

What's the response time?

Most tickets are answered within 24 hours, often within a few hours. Critical incidents (publish failures, account access issues) get auto-escalated for every customer.

Do you help with migrations from Buffer or Hootsuite?

Yes. We help teams migrating from another scheduler to map their existing posts, reconnect accounts, rebuild their calendar, and verify the first week of publishes side-by-side before fully cutting over.

Is there a knowledge base?

Yes. Guides cover account setup, network connections, calendar workflows, AI features, MCP setup, and migration playbooks for the most common schedulers. Everything is free and searchable, no login required.
